Introduction:
Data Kits in Salesforce Data Cloud serve as a structured deployment framework designed to efficiently package, transfer, and manage Data Cloud configurations between environments (such as from sandbox to production)
Set Up Environment:
To deploy a Data Kit Package Definition from one environment to another, you must first ensure that Data Cloud is enabled in both environments. You can enable Data Cloud by following the steps below:
Go to Setup → search for “Data Cloud Setup Home” → click “Get Started” and follow the on-screen instructions to enable Data Cloud.
In addition, you should verify whether your user has the necessary Data Cloud permissions by following the Salesforce documentation provided at the link below: DataCloud Permission
Deploy Data Package Kit Definition with Copado Essentials:
Go to “Deployments” → select “Add Components”, then search for “Data Kit Package Definition.”
Then, select the Data Kit Package Definition you want to deploy → click the “Show Dependencies” icon → and select all the child nodes associated with the data kit.
Next, review the dependencies and add any additional components if necessary in the “Add Components” section.
Note: Data Model Object is listed under Custom Object, Data Lake / Data Lake Object is listed under Data Source / Data Source Object. Alternatively, use Data Cloud filter to capture all Data Cloud related components.
Once everything has been validated, click click “Deploy” to proceed with the deployment.
