How does the metadata sync feature work? Is this only for specific objects and data? (Deployments, Environments, Credentials, User Stories, etc?)

If you're interested in how much Salesforce Metadata can be synced into Copado Essentials.

Copado supports the Salesforce Metadata API, and the Salesforce Metadata API supports virtually every metadata type. You have full control of the configuration and the type of metadata you want to sync over.

Things like Custom fields, apex classes, user stories, Environments, profiles, communities, etc. are all able to be synced over to Essentials.

In addition, Essentials also allows you to deploy two extra metadata types, Standard Fields and Standard Pick lists.

Unfortunately, Salesforce change sets don't support deployments of these components. This is one of the pain points for many Salesforce admins.

With Copado Essentials however, it isn't an issue.
