If you encounter a deployment error related to v54, this could be related to the way Salesforce makes upcoming release available in sandboxes before the release to your production org. For example, v54 is available for pre release in sandboxes but is not available in production (mid January, 2022). The Salesforce Spring 22 release (mid Feb).
