Copado Essentials users can view the XML file for a deployment. When you initiate a deployment in Copado Essentials, the deployment process involves retrieving the metadata from the source org and creating a package.xml file that represents the components being deployed. This package.xml file contains the XML representation of the metadata components.

To view the XML file for a deployment in Copado Essentials, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Deployment Overview page for the specific deployment you want to view.

  2. Look for the More button (see screenshot below).

  3. Click"Retrieve Package for Download" option to download the XML file to your computer.

  4. Open the XML file in a Google Doc or similar to view the file.

By viewing the XML file, you can get a better understanding of the metadata being deployed and verify that it includes the correct components and configurations. This can be helpful for troubleshooting deployment issues or ensuring that the deployment aligns with your intended changes.

Please note that the availability and specific location of the "View Metadata" or "View Package.xml" option may vary depending on the version and configuration of Copado Essentials. If you are unable to locate this option, you can reach out to your Copado administrator or support team for further assistance.
