Setting up Single Sign-On (SSO) in Copado Essentials is a streamlined process that enhances security and simplifies user access. SSO allows users to log in once and access multiple applications without the need to enter their credentials repeatedly. In the case of Copado Essentials, implementing SSO ensures a seamless and efficient experience for users. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to set up SSO in Copado Essentials:

Begin by logging into your Copado Essentials account as an administrator. Navigate to the Account Settings section where you can configure security and authentication settings.

Because Copado Essentials is authenticated via Salesforce, SSO is available by default as soon as you enable SSO for Salesforce. This means you don't need to configure SSO separately for Copado Essentials.

Under the Integrations section of Account Settings, go to Salesforce SSO, enter your Salesforce Custom Domain URL and click "Generate" button. This will automatically generate a SSO URL. This SSO URL is what you'll use as the entry point for users to access Copado Essentials with your Single Sign-On. You should distribute this SSO URL to your team members who need to access Copado Essentials. Users should bookmark this SSO URL and use it whenever they want to access Copado Essentials.

When a user clicks on this SSO URL, they will be directed through the following flow:

  • They'll be redirected to your Salesforce login page.

  • Salesforce will then use your Microsoft Entra SSO for authentication.

  • Once authenticated, the user will be automatically logged into Copado Essentials.

โ€‹Optionally, you might want to add this SSO URL to your organization's application portal or intranet for easy access (this is what we do at Copado for all of our apps).

It's important to note that this SSO URL is specific to your Copado Essentials instance and your Salesforce organization. Keep it secure and only distribute it to authorized users.

If you need to make any changes to your SSO setup in the future, you may need to regenerate this URL, so be prepared to redistribute it if necessary.

By following these steps, you can seamlessly set up Single Sign-On in Copado Essentials, providing your users with a secure and convenient authentication process. SSO not only enhances security but also contributes to a more efficient and user-friendly experience, making Copado Essentials even more valuable for your development and release management processes.
