By leveraging the advanced AI capabilities of the Copado AI Platform, this AI agent will streamline everything from code reviews and conflict resolution to deployment troubleshooting and documentation. The first feature released for Beta testing, Smart Diff, transforms complex metadata changes into clear, natural language summaries, enabling teams to make faster, more confident deployment decisions by eliminating the need to manually review dozens or even hundreds of lines of code.

How Smart Diff Works
When reviewing changes in the Diff Viewer, users can generate a Smart Diff summary with a single click. The system securely transmits the metadata differences to the Copado AI Platform, which analyzes the changes and returns a comprehensive summary within seconds. Security and Privacy Commitment
Security is paramount in the Smart Diff implementation. The system processes metadata temporarily, with analysis taking only 5-60 seconds before immediate deletion. All communications between Copado Essentials and the AI Platform occur through encrypted API connections using secure tokens.
To ensure maximum data protection, each comparison operates independently, with no stored history or correlation between requests. The system processes only metadata—no personal data is ever processed. This architecture provides enterprise-grade security while delivering powerful AI capabilities.
Organizations maintain complete control through a feature flag system that requires explicit opt-in at both the organization and user levels. This approach ensures compliance with internal security policies and provides a clear audit trail of AI feature usage.
Getting Started
Starting with Smart Diff is straightforward. Team Owners first enable the AI feature flag in their Team and Licenses settings and accept the Copado AI Services Agreement (see screenshot below). Once activated, users can access Smart Diff directly from the Diff Viewer, generating AI-powered summaries with a single click.
Navigate to Account Settings > Team and Licenses > Essentials Plus AI (Beta)
Beta Program Details
The Smart Diff Beta program runs for 30 days, offering free access to Smart Diff during this period. Participants will receive surveys at the program's midpoint and conclusion to share their experiences. Beta users gain early access to future AI skills as they become available and will receive special pricing offers for the upcoming Copado Essentials Plus AI Edition.
Activating Smart Diff in your Essentials Team Account
To use Smart Diff, you'll need:
- Be assigned the Essentials Team Owner role to authorize usage of the Essentials AI Agent feature
- To enable the AI “feature flag” in the Essentials application go to: Account Settings > Team and Licenses > check the “Essentials AI DevOps Agent (Beta) checkbox
- Note: Enabling the AI feature flag requires accepting the terms defined in the “Copado AI Platform Trial Agreement” posted on the Copado Legal webpage.
The feature will be available as part of a planned Essentials Plus AI Edition, priced at $245 per month per user for an annual subscription and, potentially available, to Essentials Free and Essentials Basic users on a limited use basis.
