Setting up Single Sign-On (SSO) in Copado Essentials is a streamlined process that enhances security and simplifies user access.
โ
SSO via Salesforce Login Page
You can sign in to Essentials via SSO following the steps below:
Go to essentials.copado.com and click on [Login With Salesforce].
In the Salesforce login page, select [Use Custom Domain]
Salesforce will automatically redirect users to SSO providers where users can login via SSO (ie. Okta) before landing on Essentials app.
Note that due to the recent Salesforce connected app restriction, you might get an access denied error after SSO login. If this is the case, please install Copado Essentials connected app as below.
Install Copado Essentials connected app (if needed)
Due to the recent Salesforce connected app restriction, you might need to install Copado Essentials connected app, namely ClickDeploy.io. Installing a connected app does not add any packages to your org. It simply registers the connected app with your org, enabling improved access control. Follow the steps below to install the connected app.
Click on this app installation link
If you use SSO, click on [Use My Domain] => Salesforce will automatically redirect you to SSO providers (ie. Okta).
After SSO login, Salesforce will present an installation screen for ClickDeploy.io app, click Install.
Generate SSO Direct URL (optional)
Itโs also possible to sign in to Essentials using a one-click direct SSO URL. This eliminates the need for users to visit the Essentials or Salesforce login pages altogether.
To generate the SSO URL, simply login to your Copado Essentials account as an administrator. Navigate to the Account Settings section where you can configure security and authentication settings.
Under the Integrations section of Account Settings, go to Salesforce SSO, enter your Salesforce Custom Domain URL and click "Generate" button. This will automatically generate a SSO URL. This SSO URL is what you'll use as the entry point for users to access Copado Essentials with your Single Sign-On. You should distribute this SSO URL to your team members who need to access Copado Essentials. Users should bookmark this SSO URL and use it whenever they want to access Copado Essentials.
When a user clicks on this SSO URL, they will be directed through the following flow:
They'll be redirected to your Salesforce login page.
Salesforce will then use your identity service providers (i.e Okta, Active Directory, ...) for authentication.
Once authenticated, the user will be automatically logged into Copado Essentials.
โ
โOptionally, you might want to add this SSO URL to your organization's application portal or intranet for easy access (this is what we do at Copado for all of our apps).
